Merry Christmas!
It seems a bit early to be saying “Merry Christmas” as we have yet to even observe Thanksgiving, but commercial society has placed Christmas before us, and like it or not, we have already begun to think about this most holy season. I’d like to share some thoughts with the hope that you will read them several times during the next month.

Let me begin by sharing that the occasion of Christmas is such a momentous event that the Church has set aside a period of time known as the Advent Season with the intent that we use the time in preparation for what God has done by coming into the world as an innocent, helpless infant. During the Advent season, we prepare ourselves for Christmas by hearing, through the scriptures, about the promises of a Messiah that God will send to save His people.
